The Pence family again surprises positively. This time is about Mike Pence’s wife, Karen Pence.
An art initiative was announced by the second lady on October 18th called: Art Therapy: Healing with the HeART. The announcement was made when Pence visited the Florida State university’s nationally recognized art therapy graduate program, and afterwards spoke to the clients and therapists at the Canopy Cove Eating Disorder Treatment Center about art therapy.
“It is evident when I visit art therapy programs across the United States and world, that art therapy is making a positive difference.”
“From children with cancer to struggling teens, to grieving families, to people with autism, to military service members experiencing Post-traumatic Stress Disorder, to those with eating disorders, art therapy is changing lives.”
The White House then released this video presenting her new program.
Pence became involved in art therapy after visiting a nonprofit organization for helping children cope with severe illness called Tracy’s Kids.
In a statement for the White House Pence wrote:
“Art therapy, according to the American Art Therapy Association, is a mental health profession that uses the creative process of art making to improve and enhance the physical, mental, and emotional well-being of individuals of all ages…Art therapy is when you’re actually working with a trained therapist. It is not arts and crafts.”
With this we can see that we have some great people working in the White House for our good. We hope that the mainstream media will share this information and stop bashing on Trump’s Administration.
