We’ve said this times and times again – politics is for the politicians, not for entertainers. Still, a lot of celebrities feel the need to attack presidents, their administration and what else not.
Most recently, we watched celebrities involve politics in the annual Emmy Awards. This kind of shows have changed tremendously in the past couple of years. Now, they are nothing more that an opportunity for spoiled, entitled, performers to bash politicians. Sadly, many of them have expressed severe dislike for President Trump, saying he is not doing this job right.
During this year’s Emmy Awards, we witnessed uber-liberal actresses Lily Tomlin and Jane Fonda talk about Trump. Instead of focusing on presenting the award, they bashed our President:
”In [9 to 5], we refused to be controlled by a sexist, egotistical, lying, hypocritical bigot. And in 2017, we still refuse to be controlled by a sexist, egotistical, lying, hypocritical bigot.”
But, they weren’t the only ones on stage presenting the award. Tomlin and Fonda were accompanied by country music legend, singer, songwriter and actress, Dolly Parton. Now, we think that Parton is great and she has defended Trump several times in this past.
However, Trump-supporters were furious at the fact she didn’t speak up when both her colleagues started attacking the President. They are now bashing her because of her silence, reports Red Nation Now.
Parton felt the need to explain her actions, so she went on Fox & Friends and said this:
“Everybody knows I don’t do politics. I’ve got as many Republican fans as Democrats and I don’t want to make any of them made at me. I don’t play politics. Plus, I’m an entertainer. I don’t usually voice my opinion in a situation like that.
I was a little nervous, but I knew I wasn’t going to play the game. A lot of people got mad at me because I didn’t say something. I thought, ‘what if I had said something.’ I didn’t know what to say. I just always go to a boob joke if all else fails.”
