President Trump has proved time and time again that he is willing to work with Democrats in order to come up with the best laws for our country. We are seeing it each and every day. Liberals have been pleasantly surprised to see Trump working with Democrats on issues such as DACA and the budget. But this time, Senate Republicans did not need Trump’s help as they are about to close on a huge new tax break.
Key Republican senators admit that they are very close to approved a budget bill that will serve as the legislative passage for a possible $1.5 trillion tax cut.
“I think there is a deal,” explained Sen. Bob Corker (R-Tenn). He did not say anything contrary to reports of a $1.5 trillion tax cut, and said, “There is just one number.
The Senate’s GOP Conference Committee Chairman, John Thune, of South Dakota, also went on to say that a deal is more than done.
“What they have been trying to do is get an agreement at the budget committee level about instructions that they can send to the Finance Committee that gives us maximum flexibility to write a bill that creates economic growth and creates wages,” Thune said.
Republicans have long believed that tax cuts will help the economy grow faster than anything else. This is a subject long argued, but there is nothing that can be done now.
Though not very many details were given, President Trump did make it clear that wealthier people will probably end up paying more under the Republican tax plan and also promised that it is important to lower taxes for the middle class.
Republicans think that this move will help grow the economy while also getting our deficit to go down just a bit. That would be very good considering the huge hole that Obama left us in.
This tax break is something that they have been talking about for a very long time. Now that we have a Republican-controlled government, more can be done to ensure that this will actually help the country as opposed to hurting it.
