In a newly published interview with The New Yorker, Hillary Clinton goes off on President Donald Trump and the fact that he is unfit to be in office. The interview revolved around her new book “What Happens” which dives into all of the problems with her presidential campaign last year. Democrats have been getting onto her for looking to the past instead of the future. But she is adamant that this book has to do with both.
Clinton takes the time to rip Trump during the interview, calling him a danger to our democracy and questioning his leadership ability. It seems that she does not know what a leader in action looks like considering the fact that he won and she lost.
“I think the President and his administration pose a clear and present danger to our democracy,” Clinton explained. “I hoped, back on the day after that election, that I wouldn’t be sitting here, all these months later, feeling compelled to say that with a sense of urgency. But I am, and I do.”
A “present danger to our democracy” she says. That seems a bit extreme. Trump has managed natural disasters, unprecedented attacks and constant lies from the media so far in his presidency. And yet, he is the one that poses a threat.
“Trump is immature, with poor impulse control; unqualified for the position that he holds; reactive, not proactive; not strategic, either at home or on the world stage,” Clinton added. “And I think he is unpredictable, which, at the end of the description one can give of him, makes him dangerous.”
Admittedly, President Trump is not a seasoned veteran when it comes to politics and holding office. He has, however, been around for a long time and knows how to run a company. That means that he knows how to run a country in many aspects. He has been doing a fantastic job of bringing this country out of its hole.
Hillary Clinton needs to understand that she cannot say these things about a sitting president of the United States.
What do you think of her words?
