Bill O’Reilly Apologizes for Invoking Eric Bolling’s Son’s Death During NYT Interview

On Monday, former Fox News host Bill O’Reilly apologized to his former colleague Eric Bolling for invoking his son’s death during an interview in which O’Reilly claimed Bolling’s son’s death resulted from a media outlet publishing allegations of sexual misconduct on his father’s part:

O’Reilly’s tweets came just after a New York Times reporter tweeted a statement from Bolling, who suggested O’Reilly acted in a manner that was “beyond inappropriate”:

“I believe it is beyond inappropriate for anyone to bring in the tragic death of my son Eric Chase Bolling,” Bolling said.

During an interview with The New York Times, O’Reilly warned that outlets should exercise caution when considering publishing certain types of information.

“I urge you to think about what you put in the newspaper,” O’Reilly told the Times. “Eric Bolling’s son is dead. He’s dead because of allegations made — in my opinion and I know this to be true — against Mr. Bolling.”
