Bill O’ Reilly was fired from his long time employer, Fox News, for sexual harassment claims made against him by several women that used to be with the company. Though these allegations were never proven, he was let go from the company after 20 years. Conservatives were not happy about this news and vowed that they would not continue watching the network until they brought him back. But they might not have to wait for that, because O’ Reilly could get his own television show.
In a new interview with the Hollywood Reporter, Bill aimed to explore his options while mostly keeping a straight face. He talked about the many opportunities that have arisen since he left Fox News. And there are a lot of them. This can be assumed given his success as a cable news host.
When asked directly about his possible television return, Bill O’ Reilly played it safe.
“I haven’t decided. There are some interesting projects in development, as they say in Hollywood, but it has to be the right situation. I’m waiting to see very specific details of the projects that people have pitched to us. And there have been many. I think by early October, we should have a pretty good vision of what we’re going to do.”
He then talked about the offer he had received from One America News. The offer was rescinded after he did not reply.
“Yeah. I didn’t make any yes or no one that. He was a very nice guy, and I thought I treated him very respectfully. But at that point, you know, we weren’t going to make any decisions about long-term projects. So they, I guess, lost patience.”
He then went on to talk about Fox News and how though he respects them, he wants to do things differently.
“They’re still a very strong brand, and they still have great correspondents, and their presentation is very, very professional. But I’m a different agent. I do things differently, and that’s why we were very successful. So in a hurricane or breaking news coverage, I bring on certain people, and we develop story arcs. When I watched the Harvey coverage on television, there was a sameness to it. And that would not have been the case on our show.”
It sounds like Bill is a man with a plan. Look for his return to television very soon.
